"I Am Here!" Venture Dialogue, Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan promotes Social Business
Foundation for Yunus Social Business Taiwan started "I Am Here!” Venture Dialogue from 2018 March 2, building a brand-new platform for the youth to start an enterprise with 6 universities jointly called Yunus Social Business Centre (YSBC) which is based on the love for Taiwan, focusing on the local spirit of “I am here” and promote economic future of Taiwan.
The foundation follows the guidance from the Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Prof. Muhammad Yunus. In order to strengthen the localization of Social Business in Taiwan, it separately signed contracts with National Central University, Chang Jung Christian University, National University of Kaohsiung, National Quemoy University, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, and National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology to set up the YSBC. Taiwan Foundation for Yunus Social Business takes the system of Design Lab from the R&D department of Bengal Yunus Centre, which is recognized as the birthplace of global Social Business, as a reference. The foundation has built Venture Dialogue which is a platform with service and resource sharing to support the youth to pay attention to development in the local communities.
Foundation has promoted the concept that Social Business equal lucidity enterprises for long. The YSBC in each university is aiming at supporting youth social business and linking with various platforms to build Venture Dialogue, and uniting to link YSBC resources from more than 40 international universities worldwide with Taiwan as the center.
Venture Dialogue of YSBC has started by National University of Kaohsiung, and the principal Wang Xie-liang promised that NUK will support the promotion of social business with full efforts that the promotion will combine with activities of the school anniversary on March 23 to initiate the chain effect of social innovation.
President of the Foundation, Philippa Tsai, noted that the small union formed by YSBC of Taiwanese universities joins the large union formed by international YSBC. Each university communicates through YSBC platform constructed by Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Prof. Muhammad Yunus to develop the localization of social business. Starting a social business with the project “I am here!” is going to become a vital milestone in Taiwan history. CEO of the foundation Juno Wang also noted that the Chinese version of Prof. Yunus’ new book “A World of Three Zeros: The New Economics of Zero Poverty, Zero Unemployment, and Zero Net Carbon Emissions” is going to be published in Taiwan. It’s a trend to change Taiwan in the future to foster the youth selflessness through education in the universities in order to solve social problems.
